Food Distribution
Distribution of food in Canada
Mission for Advancing Theological Education & Friends Committed to
Caring (MATE/FCC) is a registered Charity in Ontario that is privileged to
partner with Harvest Hands in St. Thomas, in the distribution of food to
needy families from Toronto to SW Ontario. Harvest Hands is dedicated to
‘rescuing’ food from bakers, retailers, farmers and other businesses, thus
providing the said food to over 200 organizations, agencies and missions,
who in turn, feed over 80,000 meals per month throughout the said region,
and we are blessed to be a part of this very important and needed service.
YES, WE ARE BLESSED TO BE A BLESSING. Thousands of families
depend on this monthly service to help feed their families, and the demand
is growing, to the extent where we are forced to tell people we are sorry but
we cannot do more because of certain logistics like transportation cost and
an adequate storage facility. All the food are collected and stored at
Harvest Hands in St. Thoman where it is packaged and prepare for
delivery/distribution. We then have to truck it from there to the different
locations for distribution to families. The transportation cost is beyond our
capability to handle if we were to increase the number of venues. Below is
just a part of what we do in the Greater Toronto and Kitchner/Waterloo
areas, and this can be easily be doubled or tripled if we only had the proper
facility and transportation. We have the volunteers to make it possible.

Outreach
FCCmate.com, through Friends Committed to Caring (FCC), organized a food distribution campaign in Pickering to help those in need. Volunteers provided essential food supplies to families facing hardships, ensuring they had access to nutritious meals.

Impact
This initiative reflects FCC’s commitment to serving communities through humanitarian aid. Their efforts in Pickering are part of a larger mission to support vulnerable individuals worldwide with food, medical care, and education.
